A memorandum of understanding that was signed recently saw SKALI
working hand-in-hand with SEGi University College to train SEGi students
in one of its latest IT solutions modules. SKALI is known as one of
Malaysia’s most well-established e-solutions provider with many clients.
This move is also in line with SEGi’s continuous effort to strengthen
its industry linkages in order to ensure its students are equipped with
current and industry relevant know-how. To boost its information
technology graduates’ market value, SEGi engaged SKALI as its industry
partner for training.SKALI’s Group CEO & Co-Founder Tengku Farith Rithauddeen says that SKALI realises the importance of building a knowledge society. To support this cause, SKALI Group collaborated with SEGi University College with the aim of sharing its technical expertise and industry experience through strategic training programmes.
“There is a fundamental need for higher education institutions to produce quality industry certified knowledge workers to cater to the country’s need especially in the ICT industry. We are very pleased to join forces with SEGi Unversity College to improve the competency level of future graduates,” says Tengku Farith.
The MoU will be a value added benefit for students as they will also have the opportunity to gain various types of specalised certifications through SKALI.
Liferay Developer (Elite) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are among the programmes that SEGi University College students will enjoy through SKALI, at a discounted price.
SKALI representatives including its EXCO members will conduct talks at the SEGi campus for IT and MBA students.
SEGi University College further strengthened its programmes through an academic arrangement with the University of Abertay, Dundee (UAD), one of UK’s leading universities.
Under the arrangement, students graduating from the SEGi University College Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) programme will also receive a separate degree parchment issued by UAD, alongside their SEGi degree parchments.
In addition, the degree was recently boosted with IT Security components of the Certified Ethical Hacker programme through a collaboration with the EC-Council Academy. The Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH) course conducted by EC-Council, a leading IT security certification body in the Asia Pacific, trains students to think like a hacker in order to beat one.
